On September, 6 years ago, the very first iteration of my business went live. This week’s episode is a very special one as I’m celebrating my business birthday!

LISTEN NOW

Looking back, so much has happened but at the same time, it also feels like yesterday. All the milestones, highs, lows, accomplishments, the wonderful people, friends, mentors, students, and clients I’ve had throughout the years… shoutout to you!

I think it’s easy to start a business but it’s not an easy feat to keep going.

Having your own business can bring up your weak spots, insecurities, knowledge gaps in your skills and expertise, the fear and the vulnerability. So I hope when you reach the milestone of your business anniversary (I call it business birthday), I hope you celebrate it!

In this episode, I’m sharing 6 lessons learned in my 6 years in the business (in no particular order):

  1. Learning about the enneagram (knowing my type and the other types).
  2. I enjoy having a team (love them to bits!).
  3. To embrace slow progress.
  4. “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”
  5. To deeply value and practice self-care in a consistent basis.
  6. To find yourself a mentor and a community of like-minded peers.

I encourage you to do this reflection and practice for your own business: What are the 6 lessons for you?

Don’t overthink them and don’t over-rationalise them. Write down the first 6 things that come to mind, whether they are big or small.

I also want to thank each and everyone of you who listened to this episode or any of the Mums With Hustle podcast episode! I love this community so much. We are Australia’s leading and longest-standing community for mums building business from home. I love that you’re here.

Moreover, I’m so excited to let you know that I’m opening the doors to my Social Method Society on the first week of October! Head on over to socialmethodsociety.com to get on the waitlist.
